Product Description

If you long to reach kids and see their lives changed by God, this comprehensive guide shows you how. Purpose Driven Youth Ministry will do for youth ministry what Rick Warren's Gold Medallion award-winning, The Purpose Driven Church is doing for pastoral ministry. It's an indispensable guide to creating and maintaining youth ministry for the long run. It will help you create a solid spiritual team that builds the foundations of the Christian faith into the hearts and lives of young people. Forged around the fundamental purposes of evangelism, discipleship, fellowship, ministry, and worship, Purpose Driven Youth Ministry uses the experiences of Saddleback Church to illustrate what a healthy Youth ministry can be. Nine transferable principles help you - Connect with the power of God for passionate, committed leadership - Define the purpose of your ministry and communicate it effectively - Identify your potential audience - Create programs that reach your audience and fulfill God's purposes - Implement processes that move students to maturity - Enhance your ministry with clearly defined values - Team up with parents to involve the whole family - Find volunteers and develop them into participating leaders - Persevere through tough times and thrive in an ever-changing environment. Balancing both theory and practice, Purpose Driven Youth Ministry can be applied to any church setting, regardless of size, denomination, facilities, resources, and existing leadership. Purpose-Driven Youth Ministry will help you develop a ministry that equips students rather than a ministry that coordinates events. Doug Fields says, 'My goal for this book is to coach you through a plan to build a healthy youth ministry that isn't dependent on one great youth leader and won't be destroyed when the youth worker leaves the church. It's not a book on how to grow your youth ministry with six easy steps; it's about identifying, establishing, and building health into your church's youth ministry.

Product Description

The vast majority of Christian preaching focuses on Golgotha, what Jesus accomplished by submitting himself to death on the cross. But what of his resurrection and his now indestructible life? What is he doing now for the church and for the world? This little book opens up what the scriptures say about his present-day ministry as high priest of the new covenant at the right hand of God and how that ministry aids the 21st century believer.

It is written in a condensed style. At 44 pages (9282 words) it is an easy read on your phone or pad, as well as your Kindle.

An excerpt:

God's family, like a lot of families, has kids who just refuse to grow
up. Oh, they've been born-again, all right. Some might even have
demonstrated the powers of the world to come. But these haven't even
tried to mature into a full man in God. They're like teenagers: eager
for freedom and independence, but lacking the gumption to get up and
walk in their inheritance for themselves. They're content to live on
somebody else's faith. Even after having tasted of the heavenly gift,
they revel in the lust of their eyes and the pride of life, a life that
has all the constancy of a morning glory.
   This book isn't for them.
   And
then there are the babes in Christ. Not necessarily the newborns, but
the ones who've been family for quite a while, who still bubble over at
just the slightest hints of spiritual truth. These are they who smack
their lips at the warm milk of the Word, things like repentance, faith
toward God, and baptisms, but shut their mouths and shake their heads
when told they need eat some solid meat. They're always the loudest kids
in the room, stomping, kicking, clapping, and screaming to every
hallelujah that comes off the platform, but they're also the first to
lose their color and collapse asleep on the table once the tickling of
their senses is over.
This book isn't written for them either.
    Then
there's the man who's decided that the invisible city high above his
head is of more value to him than the play things of the world. He's not
afraid to put away childish toys and to step outside the gate, away
from child-mob, to trek the outer landscapes of Paul's revelation. The
high priestly ministry of Jesus Christ is one of the vistas there, which
shows forth Jesus' work from the moment God made him sin to the moment
that he sat down at God's right hand, a resurrected man.
   This book is for him.
