Psalm 68 says, “You sent an abundant rain, O Lord, to refresh the weary.” You may feel dry. You’ve done what you can, but it seems like the discouragement won’t go away. The scripture says, “You have not because you ask not.” One reason we don’t see God do big things is we only ask for small things. If you’re not asking for something that you can’t accomplish on your own, then you’re not asking big enough. If it’s not something that’s over your head, you don’t have the resources, nobody in your family has ever done it, the experts say there’s no way, then you’re not believing for the far and beyond favor that God wants to show you.

God never said we wouldn’t have difficulties. Being a person of faith doesn’t exempt us from challenges and unfair situations. That’s a part of life. The scripture says, “Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord will deliver us out of them all.” The promise is not that you won’t have difficulties. The promise is God will bring you out, not of some of them, not of most of them, but out of all of them.
